  Dorothy Chuang


Dorothy Chuang began her commercial real estate career in 1989 after being in the travel business for 18 years. She was associated with SBWE, a real estate brokerage company in New Jersey until 1999 when she joined CB Richard Ellis. Dorothy was born in Shanghai, China and lived in Hong Kong and Taipei, Taiwan before moving to the U.S. in 1979. She is fluent in English and three major Chinese dialects – Mandarin, Shanghai and Cantonese.

Dorothy’s integrity, dedication and professionalism as well as her broad experience in various aspects of commercial real estate are well appreciated by her clients. Her language skills and understanding of both Western and Chinese cultures make her a resource for many Chinese corporations and investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.

Since joining CB Richard Ellis, Dorothy has accumulated an impressive list of Chinese/American clients, including the exclusive representation of Evergreen America Corp. for all of North America. Over the years, she has proved to be a powerful representative of the Chinese Community in North America both in her business and personal life.

She is a Board of Director on the Chinese American Real Estate Association (CAREA) of New York, as well as an Associate Member of the New York Chinese American Bankers Association. In addition, she is a member of the Advisory Board of PALC of New York and the Advisory Board of US-China Real Estate Summit, New York.

Dorothy was an English Literature major at Soo Chow University in Taipei, Taiwan from 1966 to 1969. During summer 1969, she was one of 10 local employees among 1,000 applicants hired by Trans World Airlines. Within one year, she won the “Award of Excellence” for the entire Far East Region for Sales and Services. Dorothy earned her CCIM Designation through New York University School for Professional and Continuing Studies.
